Okafor traded to New Orleans

I have always envisioned the day that the Bobcats would say goodbye to Okafor, but I did not expect it to be this soon. Okafor, though his scoring and rebounding stats are better than Tyson Chandler's stats, is NOT a pure center. Okafor is 6-10 but has the body of a PF. Chandler, who is 7-1, brings height, athletcism, aggression, and length needed from an NBA center. Though his scoring and rebounding in New Orleans were not as high as Okafor's stats in Charlotte, I believe that this trade will be a benefit to both teams. Okafor will see more scoring chances with CP3 as his PG and will rebound just as much. Chandler will be a go-to-guy for the Bobcats with more chances to score than in New Orleans and will get more rebounds. Without a doubt this will be a beneficial trade for both teams. This season will be an interesting one for the Bobcats.

Bobcats 09-10 Mock Draft

Hey Everyone

I am back for my mock draft of who the Bobcats should draft with their THREE picks in this months draft!

At pick #12 (1st round) I see the Bobcats drafting:
Gerald Henderson - Duke
SG/SF
6'5" 215 lbs.

Gerald has had 3 great years at Duke and could bring speed, accuracy, and aggression towards the basket that the Bobcats are lacking.


At pick #40 (2nd round) I see the Bobcats drafting:
Jeff Pendergraph - Arizona State
PF
6'10" 240 lbs.

After the Bobcats midseason trade of Ryan Hollins, I can see the Bobcats drafting Jeff to try to replace Ryan Hollins as our strong backup C and PF as Nazr Mohammed gets older.


At pick #54 (2nd round) I see the Bobcats drafting:
Emir Preldzic - Slovenia
SG/SF
6'8" 220 lbs.

The Bobcats are a fan of the big guy who can shoot as well as be aggressive towards the basket. Emir is one of those guys who could be great learning from Raja Bell and Vladimir Radmanovic an develop in the NBDL for a couple of years before he is NBA caliber.


For 2009-2010 I see the Bobcats finishing 39-43 and getting the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference Playoffs.
